The EHS History Pathway
The History Pathway at EHS challenges students to demonstrate excellence in their knowledge of historical content and research. While at EHS, History Pathway students will be required to complete two or more of the AP level offerings in history, compete in Humboldt County History Day, complete a senior project, and successfully complete the courses that are part of the US History Pathway four year plan.
EHS History students have distinguished themselves as competitors at Humboldt County History Day as well as California State History Day. Many have been champions at the county level, and two EHS projects have earned champion medals at California History Day.
The Senior Project provides students an opportunity to demonstrate mastery of historical research and presentation. Past senior projects have included: the EHS Historical Calendar, the Digital Mural, the EHS Oral History Project, the Creation of the EHS Sports Hall of Fame, and the Hmong History Project.
Finally, History Pathway students have traveled to New York and Washington DC and invited important historians and historical figures to present at EHS. The History Pathway requires students to meet A-G requirements.
